Unfortunately due to privacy laws we are unable to reveal the identities of the patients (but you can still see how much fun we're having.
April 14th Service Committee had a Casino Night at a Nursing Center. There were 7 people there to represent Springboard.
We had so much fun, the women and men were so grateful that we were there. We all had a blast. Service committee brought in 3 gift baskets they raffled off. Everyone was hoping their name would be called.
When I went over and sat at my table there were a few poker chips (bad shape) and BUTTONS – different size buttons they were using to place their bets. Michelle went out to her car and brought in a silver box (very nice set I might add) of casino chips. All the residents were so happy they were getting to play with real chips. When it was time to leave an administrator walked around with a baggie and they placed their buttons back in the bag for next time. Michelle then handed the administrator her box of casino chips and offered them to the facility. Everyone was so happy, the smiles, the clapping - you would have thought she gave them a million bucks. They told me they could not wait to play next time now. NO MORE BUTTONS
I thought it was a lovely, fun evening and then it was topped off with a Random Act of Kindness.
They asked that Springboard please remember them again and to come out and visit. Great job Service Committee and thanks Michelle.
Just wanted to share a “feel good story” about Springboard. Have a great evening.
