Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino (FARSB) is a 501(C)3 non-profit non-denominational organization that serves both the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties (also referred to as the Inland Empire). There are over 400,000 people who are food insecure in the IE, with many of those people being children. FARSB, through its partnership with over 250 local nonprofits, distributes over 2 million

pounds of food per month to the community. Although FARSB is part of the Feeding America network, we are an independent entity and rely solely on the generosity and support of our local community to fund our daily operations. Please consider making a donation at www.feedingamericaIE.org or volunteering your time. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

In communities across America, people are doing everything they can to provide for their families—budgeting, cutting costs and stretching each paycheck. But sometimes, even that isn’t enough, and keeping food on the table can be a challenge. That’s where SNAP grocery benefits make a difference, serving as a vital bridge for people facing tough times.

SNAP strengthens local communities and economies, but recent changes may impact families’ access to this crucial program. Right now, states across the country need more time to adjust to upcoming changes to reduce the negative impact on residents.

Tell Congress: Support a two-year delay in the SNAP cost shift to keep the program stable and help families afford groceries. Sign Now: https://bit.ly/4x3TcoM

CalFresh Awareness Month has ended, but with many upcoming changes to the program, we wanted to highlight the importance of these vital benefits to members of our IE community.

Meet Clint: he is a retired business owner receiving CalFresh. Though he gets social security, it's not enough to pay bills and have money left for groceries. I don’t know what I’d do without that food card," Clint said. “There’s a stigma that comes with needing help. I used to think that people on [CalFresh] were just taking advantage, but when you need it, and you worked all your life, it changes your perspective.”

Just like Clint, there are still many community members who aren't aware of how these monthly benefits could help them. That is why CalFresh Awareness Month exists, and why FARSB has our SNAP/CalFresh Resource Center.

🌈Happy Pride Month!🌈

As we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community, we honor those who have fought for equal rights amongst all folks and advocated for inclusivity within workplaces, housing, and food assistance.

Unfortunately, LGBTQ+ individuals have historically faced higher rates of food insecurity but born from that need is a connection to nonprofits like food banks who offer safe places to receive nutritious food.

Food is a human right, and all June long, we're proud to say Happy PRIDE Month!

As food prices remain high, programs like CalFresh (SNAP) are helping families put food on the table when it matters most. But these programs need support.

Hunger affects kids, seniors, and working families across our communities, and lawmakers are making decisions that will impact access to food.

📢 Take action today! Urge your senators to strengthen CalFresh and food assistance programs in the next Farm Bill.

Last year, Application Assisters helped 1.4M Californians learn about CalFresh, supported 360K applications, and brought in $1.32B in federal food benefits. Gavin Newsom — include $14M in the state budget to preserve this critical network facing cuts from H.R. 1!
