DO YOU. . . WANT TO BE AN ATTORNEY? WANT TO GET BETTER AT PUBLIC SPEAKING? WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE LAW? JOIN THE MOCK TRIAL TEAM AT UCR! We are a diverse group of UCR students with various interests, levels of experience, and career goals. On our team, you can be an attorney or a witness. Attorney roles are for anyone interested law, debate, or public speaking. Witness actors receive a charac

ter to personify in court- whether it be a grieving mother, a business tycoon, or the number one suspect in a murder case! WHAT DO WE DO? FALL: At the beginning of Fall Quarter, we recruit new members to join our team. ***No experience required.*** Together, we analyze a case given to us by The American Mock Trial Association. We then teach you everything to prepare the best case possible! WINTER: Our team takes our case to trial! We travel to places like the University of California Los Angeles, University of Las Vegas, and Arizona State University to compete in huge tournaments. Each of our trials are judged by real legal professionals. SPRING: The competitive season is over, so a second wave of recruitment allows new members to learn everything in a much more relaxed environment. This gives new members a great advantage to making it onto the following year's competitive team!

We're so proud of our sister campus qualifying for the National Championship for the first time in their history! Help them make that long trip to Minneapolis!

UCR continues to make history this year as we qualified for the Opening Round Championship Series for the first time in our short existence. After a long tournament at Arizona State University, we came out with 3 best attorney awards, 2 best witness awards, and a 6-2 record for our A team. We'll see you at ORCS in Santa Monica!

This past weekend, The Mock Trial Team at UCR visited our beautiful sister campus in Santa Barbara for the annual Mocktopia Invitational Tournament.

Our team has always been textbook underdogs- with no coaches, no funds, and no real resources. For the small amount of time that mock trial has existed at UCR, it's never been more than a group of students who want it more than anything.

This weekend, our hard work paid off! UCR's A team made history by bringing home 4 awards- 2 best attorney, 1 best witness, and 3rd place in the tournament of 24 teams. We celebrated the victorious end to a stressful weekend with a visit to Goleta Beach Park and Hollister Brewing Company. Thank you to everyone who made this weekend amazing!

FREE MOCK LSAT:
The Mock Trial Team at UCR and TestMasters will be administering a free full-length mock LSAT on Saturday, January 27th from 10AM-2PM in the Materials Science Engineering Building, Room 103.

All UC Riverside students are welcome!

This event will be conducted by Derek Rethwisch, veteran TestMasters instructor with 13 years of LSAT teaching experience and an LSAT score in the 99th percentile. After the exam, Derek will go over some of the most difficult questions. Attendees will also receive a one-week pass to our Online Resource Center, where they can score the mock LSAT, review detailed explanations, and get one-on-one assistance from TestMasters instructors!
