Our First Facilitated Trip...
From June 21st to the 27th, POWER Ministry took a big step forward in our mission by facilitating our first ever mission trip for an outside group.
A team of 19 from Lutheran High School in Colorado — 14 students and 5 adults — traveled to Faith Mission International in Del Rio, TX and Acuña, Mexico.
During the week, they:
- Built a new home for Margarita and her son Javier, who has a disability.
- Took part in POWER-style Joy Tours, sharing the love of Jesus with local families.
- Hosted sports activities for kids at Pastor Tim’s Mega Mission.
This trip was the result of months of preparation. POWER supported with planning, resources (tools, toys, clothing, candy), and boots on the ground. Our small team included Doug Wible, Cody, Vanessa & Little Olivia Gibbs, Rees Moore (Youth Pastor from The Life Church Sun Valley, who is praying about bringing his own group), and Robbie.
This was a first for POWER — and we believe it’s just the beginning. We want to encourage all our POWER Men to start dreaming about leading or helping form a group from their church or community. We are available to come alongside and offer guidance and support where possible as groups step out in faith and plan their own mission trips.
