How to support a survivor:

1. Start by believing them.
- Be present and witness their story. Do not interrupt them or feel like you need to say something deeply impactful.

2. Do not force them to report.
- Right now, the focus is moving the survivor from crisis to recovery.

3. Gather resources
- By informing a survivor of all the resources and services available, they are given back their power to exercise control over their lives and their healing process.
