This is a clip from Crescendo Conservatory's Concert, "An Afternoon of Inspiration," held November 3rd on the campus of La Sierra University in the Hole Memorial Auditorium. The concert included an ALL-STAR lineup of young string players, showcasing the breadth of their craft. Meet our featured artist, 16-year-old, Wayne Bucknor, Jr:
Wayne Bucknor Jr. was born on December 17, 2002, in Huntsville, Alabama. In kindergarten, he was fitted to play the violin but transitioned to the cello when he was twelve years old. He takes lessons from Dr. Ariana Arcu. He also gained knowledge of music theory from his father, Wayne Bucknor Sr, who taught him to play the piano. He has two siblings, Nina and Cameryn Bucknor, who both play the violin and they often perform as a trio in the Alabama area. He is currently 1st chair in the Huntsville Youth Orchestra’s Sinfonia. In the summertime he attends the Tennessee Valley Music Festival, where he also plays 1st chair. In the near future, he hopes to pursue a career in film and stage acting, and cello performance. He enjoys listening to multiple genres of music, acting, and joking with friends.
