I learned something recently from the daughter of a 92-year-old family friend that really made me think.

She said, “My mother isn’t going to get online and search for resources. I’m the one who’s going to do that for her.”

And I thought—she’s absolutely right.

Sometimes we’re trying to reach the person who needs the help, when we really need to reach the person who’s helping them.

The daughter looking for services for Mom.
The son trying to help Dad.
The granddaughter making phone calls for Grandma.

You may not even call yourself a caregiver. You’re just the person everybody calls when they need help.

So here’s my Thirsty Thursday question:

Are you helping someone who needs help?
