Another amazing collaborator joining us on June 19th! 🦋💛

We are so excited to welcome Discoveries East End / Bright and Early Discoveries to our Juneteenth: A Celebration of Community event! They'll be bringing the fun for our youngest community members — temporary tattoos, bubbles, coloring pages, outdoor activities, backpacks, and t-shirts, all for FREE.

Because every child deserves to celebrate.

We are so excited to welcome the NYCLU Suffolk Regional Office to our Juneteenth: A Celebration of Community event on June 19th!
They will be providing FREE cookies, chips, candies, fruits AND Know Your Rights materials for our community. Because celebrating freedom means knowing what your rights are. 💛

Our Junior Volunteers were honored to be invited to take part in the Sleep in Heavenly Peace North Fork bed build — sanding, preparing, and building beds for children in our community who don’t have one to sleep in.
This is what showing up looks like. Our youth didn’t just learn about community service, they lived it. 💙

Meet our first collaborator — Luscious Eyelashes, an eyelash tech and beauty business that will be offering complimentary lash services at our event on June 19th.
In their own words: "Juneteenth is about celebrating freedom, community, and Black excellence, and I want to use my talent to uplift others and create a positive experience for the community."

Our Butterflies had an important conversation about respect and manners — and closed out the day by decorating eggs and enjoying some sweet treats together. The lessons our girls learn here stay with them long after the meeting ends.

Learning the art of hair from the best — our own community. 💜

Our Butterflies got hands on experience in a hair care class led by graduates of the BOCES cosmetology program. From techniques to tools, our girls learned from young women who have already walked the path and are now pouring back into the next generation. That's the ripple effect we strive to create!
