Meet NY6692-26, a yearling female gray seal who stranded in Southampton on August 4th. NYMRC staff picked her up after noticing injuries from predator interactions on her flipper. Upon further investigation, she was determined to be dehydrated and had parasites. She is now in rehabilitation care! 🦭

Happy Patient Update Monday! Meet NY6666-25, a subadult loggerhead sea turtle who stranded in December with pneumonia and a deep cut on its carapace. 📆Wednesday, July 29th

⏰ Promptly at 6pm- Arrive early!

📍Tiana Beach, Hampton Bays (90 Dune Rd)

🚗 Parking is free with Southampton town beach sticker, or free with event permit which will be handed out upon arrival from NYMRC volunteers!

8️⃣ Sea turtles are going home thanks to hundreds of hours of rehabilitation work by NYMRC and supporters like you!

4️⃣ of these patients will be satellite tagged prior to release, allowing us to track their journey home! These trackers are thanks to our incredible partners at New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and to our visiting researcher Dr. Wendy McFarlane at Manhattanville University ! These trackers allow us to collect invaluable data to support the survival of New York’s sea turtle species!

Join us for this incredibly important release! We hope to sea you there! 🌊
