Today, we had the honor of recognizing our 1st Sergeant-At-Arms, Southold Police Officer Peter Onufrak, as he steps away after an incredible journey in law enforcement.

With over 30 years of dedicated service, including more than 20 years with the Suffolk County Police Conference and a decade on the Board, Pete’s contributions have been invaluable. His commitment to our community and his unwavering support for his fellow officers will be greatly missed.

Thank you, Pete, for your years of service and your tireless dedication to keeping our communities safe. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!

Members of the Police Conference of New York Legislative Committee joined Governor Kathy Hochul in Manhattan today where she signed the "Lieutenant Joseph Banish Mental Health Act" establishing confidentiality for communications made by law enforcement during peer-to-peer counseling sessions. This is to promote mental wellness by offering a safe place for our members to go for help.
