Supporting 32 residential homes for those living with developmental, intellectual and mental health disabilities since 1984.

Family members of the developmentally disabled established ADD in 1980. These family members were concerned about the physical and emotional decline of patients compelled to live in crowded institutions where the care was custodial and the staffing and programming insufficient and inadequate. These family members were convinced that appropriate treatment and training in a warm, sheltered, homelike

environment would enhance their physical and emotional growth. In March of 1984 Aid to the Developmentally Disabled opened its first residential program. It is located in the hamlet of Northville, Riverhead, Long Island. As a result of the initial success in Northville, ADD rapidly grew into a multi service organization. Providing residential programs, supported apartments, clinical supports and case management services to developmentally disabled adults and those with mental challenges on Long Island’s East End.

On May 31st, RISE Life Service’s Enrichment Experience proudly participated in the 30th Annual MOSAIC Community Street Painting Festival! 🎨💙

We brought our outreach van and hosted an interactive table where community members painted rocks with positive affirmations and created wellness packets filled with worry stones, emotional support ducks, and helpful mental health resources.

Events like the MOSAIC Community Street Painting Festival allow us to further our mission by connecting with the community, sharing resources, and fostering meaningful conversations about mental wellness.

✨ What an incredible day at the RISE CAM Talent Show!

On May 27th and 28th our participants lit up the stage with amazing performances filled with creativity, confidence, energy, and heart. From music and dance to comedy and unforgettable moments, every act showcased the unique talents within our community.

A special thank you to our Day Programs for sharing their talents and making this event such a success. We are so proud of everyone who performed, supported, and helped bring this event to life.

Today we celebrated our Shining Stars, honoring staff who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and the future of our organization.

The event opened with remarks from our CEO, Jeanette Permenter, and HR Recruiter & Onboarding Manager, Daniel Dern, followed by committee members who helped select this year’s honorees.

Each recipient was recognized by their direct supervisor before receiving their awards. OMH certificates were presented by Erin Rolstron, Deputy Director of the OMH Long Island Field Office, and OPWDD certificates were presented by Wilfred Chou, Deputy Director of OPWDD Region 5.

We are proud to recognize this year’s honorees:
