The Long Island Reef Association is an educational organization comprised of marine aquarium hobbiest Long Island Reef Association, Inc.

(LIRA) is a 501C-3 non profit educational organization comprised of marine aquarium hobbyists from all over Long Island. LIRA promotes interest in and enjoyment of all aspects of the marine aquarium hobby. Through exchanging information with one another, we share our collective knowledge on the care and propagation of these fragile ocean animals, while reducing the demand for wild caught specimens

and providing an educational platform to promote the beauty and fragility of the worlds natural coral reefs.

The LIRA Frag Swap is back 🪸

Join the Long Island Reef Association for the 9th Annual LIRA Frag Swap on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at IBEW Local 25 Union Hall in Hauppauge, NY. Whether you’re a seasoned re**er, a new hobbyist or just reef-curious, this is one of the best days of the year to connect with the Long Island reef community. Expect corals, vendors, community, food and drinks available for purchase, plenty of parking, and a full day of reef inspiration.
