Last friday we had the honor of welcoming Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to the East End Food Hub to discuss the rising cost of groceries and the importance of investing in local food systems.
As food prices continue to rise, strengthening our regional food infrastructure has never been more important. The East End Food Hub is being built to connect local farms with schools, food pantries, senior centers, and families—keeping more locally grown food in our community while supporting the farmers who grow it.
We're grateful to Senator Gillibrand for visiting the Hub and for recognizing the important role local agriculture plays in building a more resilient and affordable food system for New Yorkers.
The future of local food is being built right here on the East End.
