On this Giving Tuesday, please consider those people who are experiencing homelessness in our community. Since 2002, Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach has been dedicated to helping those most in need in our community. Now more the ever, we need your support.
Did you know that the typical homeless person on the East End are local residents, some of which have been part of this community for decades. Many have been forced into homelessness due to the lack of affordable housing, especially individuals who are fixed incomes such as the elderly and disabled. Our current 2025 – 2026 Emergency Winter Shelter Program, which started on November 1st, at least 20 individuals using this program in the past month are over the age of 55, including 6 people who are in their 70s.
While our most popular program is the winter shelter, Maureen’s Haven also provides direct support services year-round, including case management services, connection to substance abuse and alcohol treatment providers, referrals for mental health and wellness programs, employment assistance, and many other services focused on elevating our guests out of homelessness. With your financial assistance, Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach can continue to provide these critical services.
In the spirit of giving, please think of the hundreds of individuals and families who are truly homeless, facing homelessness, or struggling with stable housing in our community. We are truly blessed to have many generous supporters who believe in our mission, and we are grateful for your commitment to helping those most in need.
