Today, CMG Global Foundation was proud to join our friends and partners at the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia (SCFG) for the 46th Annual Sickle Cell Road Race/Walk!

We walked for a great cause, connected with our community, and stood alongside Sickle Cell Warriors, families, advocates, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and supporters who continue to show up for Sickle Cell Disease.

👏🏾 Congratulations to SickleCellFoundationofGA on another successful event! More than 700 people registered, with hundreds coming together today to walk, run, connect, and raise awareness for Sickle Cell Disease.

A special thank you to SCFG CEO Dr. Tabatha McGee for spending time with us and sharing some of the history behind this longstanding community tradition.

As we continue National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we’re reminded that awareness is also about showing up, building relationships, and supporting the organizations and communities doing this work every day.

❤️ Thank you to everyone who supported CMG Global Foundation’s Stop the Stroke Before It Starts campaign throughout the summer.

As we prepare for National Sickle Cell Awareness Month in September, we’ll be relaunching and expanding this campaign to continue raising awareness—and funds—for life-saving Transcranial Doppler (TCD) screening, equipment, provider training, and sustainable stroke-prevention access for children living with Sickle Cell Disease in Nigeria and underserved communities in Georgia.

A stroke does not have to be part of a child’s story.

Our goal remains $30,000, and every donation helps us move closer to expanding screening access and preventing avoidable strokes.

🌍 CMG Global Foundation in the Community

This month, one of our newest volunteers, Jayda Hunte, joined our lead volunteer, Roxanne Eddy, for a refugee outreach visit, representing CMG Global Foundation in service to our community.

Together, they visited refugee families, delivering food, books, and educational toys—but as Jayda quickly discovered, the greatest gift wasn’t what they brought. It was taking the time to listen.

“I went on my first refugee outreach today with Ms. Roxanne, representing CMG. We had the opportunity to speak with two families and donate toys, books, and food. It was an incredibly rewarding experience.

It really opened my eyes to how sometimes a simple conversation is what these families need most—a safe space to pour out their hearts and have a sincere listening ear.

The family was so grateful for the tangible items, but even more so for the time we gave them to simply listen to their woes.”

For years, CMG Global Foundation has been proud to partner with the Sickle Cell Foundation Of Georgia in the shared mission of improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease.

From serving alongside SCFG through volunteer projects to supporting community education and advocacy, this partnership reflects what is possible when organizations work together toward a common purpose.

One of our proudest moments came in 2024, when our Co-Founder, Dr. Ngozika Orjioke, joined Dr. Tabatha McGee, CEO of the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, to announce the donation of a Transcranial Doppler (TCD) machine—an important step toward expanding stroke prevention for children living with Sickle Cell Disease.

Today, as we continue our “Stop the Stroke Before It Starts” campaign, we’re grateful for partners like SCFG who are helping close the survival gap through education, advocacy, screening, and compassionate care.

| Building Sustainable Solutions, One Partnership at a Time

Some moments remind us why we do this work.

In April 2024, CMG Global Foundation proudly partnered with the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (SCFN), the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA), and the Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 to donate a Transcranial Doppler (TCD) machine to support SCFN’s Stroke Prevention Programme for Children.

This donation represented more than a piece of equipment—it represented hope.

Every TCD screening has the potential to identify children at risk of stroke before it happens, giving families the opportunity to intervene early and save lives.

Since 2011, SCFN has provided more than 29,000 TCD screenings for children living with Sickle Cell Disease. We are honored that this donation became part of that lifesaving legacy.

Today, our commitment continues.

Through our “Stop the Stroke Before It Starts” campaign, we’re working to expand access to TCD screening equipment, provider training, community education, and sustainable healthcare systems in Nigeria, Georgia, and beyond.
