Have you been able to take a look at this book? It’s a weighty resource containing a lot of repertoire and activities to help develop harmonic audiation. There is fascinating information about the cultural contexts of the songs used, included 🎶
If you have it, we’d love to hear how and where you use it!

GIML members can check out Stuart Chapman Hill’s review of this book in the December 2025 issue of Audea.

Have you seen these books? They contain engaging discussions and thoughtful writing on a number of topics to do with Music Learning Theory. We love them!

Tell us which parts you liked the best! How about the chapter on using MLT with other approaches such as Orff or Kodaly? What did you think of the chapter on adapting instruction for diverse populations? Or, in the choral book, what were your thoughts about Informal Learning? Did the chapter on creativity, improvisation & composition spark your excitement too?

Facebook comments unfortunately cannot be replied to - but they do get read and appreciated.
