We are proud to highlight Sarah Catesby, a distinguished fellow in our PH360 2026 cohort, currently pursuing a BSc Honours in Healthcare and Health Science at The Open University.

Sarah came into PH360 already grounded in public health theory — having recently completed coursework in Public Health and Infectious Diseases, including a project on HIV prevalence in England using secondary data. But PH360 gave her something academic study alone could not: hands-on, practitioner-level experience.

How PH360 Impacted Sarah’s Career:
✅ Provided hands-on experience that prepares her as an upcoming public health practitioner
✅ Built her confidence as she transitions from student to practitioner
✅ Delivered highly relevant, practice-oriented study materials
✅ Reinforced her belief that public health professionals carry the responsibility to promote, protect, and restore community health
✅ Strengthened her self-worth and sense of purpose through dedicated mentorship

Sarah now steps forward not just with a degree, but with the confidence and clarity to embody public health’s guiding principles in practice.

For Native Tree Thursday this week, we’ll be looking at the Flowering Dogwood!

There are 50-60 species of dogwood, and of those, about 12 species are native to the east coast. The flowering dogwood is a host for many pollinators, as it develops small pink or white flowers in the late spring.

For this week’s Native Tree Thursday, we’re looking at the Smooth Hydrangea.

The Smooth Hydrangea is a small native shrub, growing in a wide variety of colors. The hydrangea blooms from April through June. White flowers remain white, but pink, blue and purple colors will vary based on the pH level of the soil.
