Shirley and Avery muscled a new dresser into our Veteran, David’s new “Tiny Home” in Merced on Saturday! We have followed his journey from the street to Salvation Army, through 2 hip surgeries, several different walkers and special canes, Now he gets around pretty well with his cane and pain. Several of our Salvation Army veterans were able to qualify for these new veteran or spouse only housing apartments which have tiny bedrooms with bathroom and a larger community room with larger fridge and stove that 6-10 of them share. They are allowed to have a dog.
We also dropped off food and other community use items for the larger kitchen! Once we receive a list of needed items for the other veterans and community areas, we will put this out for assistance. Together, we are helping very low income veterans who are working or unable to because of their physical disabilities. They are embarrassed to receive the assistance, but they served our country honorably. This is just one of the things we are here for, but it’s an important one!

🥓🧇🥞Another Food Fellowship Friday come and gone!
🇺🇸We loved welcoming another new friend and veteran, Armando, to our community!
Thanks Thelma Louise for the delicious 😋 egg and sausage scramble with veggies and cheese! 🥐🥖🍳Diane and Lori helped bring it all together! Fresh fruit and pastries rounded it off. The coffee is always hot ready.
🟥 Reminder! The 2nd Friday of the month is our board meeting. We only have coffee ☕️🥯and pastries, self-serve, available, same time, 10:30am.
