We’ve got a little boy here who’s made his way to the struggle bus.
Ducky, is the cutest tri color bully boy, that we know…..but he’s not without some issues. We don’t feel this affects his quality of life, however, he’s going to need somebody who is willing to realize that he’s got some things going on.
For whatever reason, whether he was born with it, whether he was injured, we don’t know… there are signs of some neurological issues, mainly on his right side. Our volunteers have told us while they’re walking him that they can hear his nails scrape every now and then, which indicates his paws fold underneath and this is a sign of some type of neurological issue. Whether he’s got a disc problem we really don’t know. And it’s nothing that a regular vet veterinarian would be able to diagnose. We don’t have the funding that it would cost to send him to a neurologist.
So, with that being said, there is not enough wrong with this boy to even consider humane euthanasia. We don’t feel that the end of the road for Ducky should be here. We feel strongly that he could live a normal life in a home, and while we can’t predict what may happen down the road, we can say with certainty right now, that this boy has good quality of life and should be in a home.
Ducky can be exuberant, like a toddler who goes all in for what he wants, but he’s always been sweet and friendly in his actions. He is LOVING life! In his world, there’s not a darn thing wrong or out of place. He’s the ultimate optimist.
You can HEAR our boy coming before you see him. Typical snorty, heavy breather, sloppy kisser, bull dog, right?
Who’s gonna give this 4 year old, fully vetted boy a chance?
