Louisiana Boxer Rescue www.louisianaboxerrescue.org Once care and evaluations are complete, these boxers are then ready for adoption. We are also looking for experienced foster homes.

Louisiana Boxer Rescue, located in New Orleans, Louisiana is an all volunteer, non profit, 501C3 organization that provides a safe haven for Boxers surrendered by their owners or that have come to us from an animal shelter. Unlike a shelter, our rescues live with a foster family during their interum for veterinary care, behaviour evaluation and observation that assists us in finding them the best

...suited permanent homes. Boxers that come to us receive necessary veterinary care, including required vaccinations, spaying/neutering and heartworm treatment. We are always looking for good volunteers for transports, to do meet and greets or home visits before a dog gets adopted. If you are interested in being a volunteer, transport or foster home, please contact us. We are thankful for the open arms and hearts of the wonderful families that temporarily foster until we can find each a permanant and loving home. We depend on our adoption fees and donations to help us care for these animals while in foster care. Donations can be made securely via PayPal using the "Donate" button on our website.

Louisiana Boxer Rescue volunteer Maggie was met over the Rainbow Bridge Thursday by her Boxer sister Sadie. She is now running pain free with the many, many friends she has made since finding LBR. For over 13 years Maggie has helped acclimate and been the first friend to many fosters.

Maggie was a rescue. She was abandoned as a puppy and lived on the streets until she was caught and brought to the shelter. Maggie was terrified of everything and would not have made it out of the shelter if not for her foster parents. I saw her picture on petfinder and knew she was the one. I didn’t know how to help her overcome her fears. A friend told me about Connie’s obedience class and I immediately signed us up. The result was a life changing transformation from terrified to social butterfly who loved everyone. Most of Maggie’s friends were Boxers so we started volunteering and took in our first foster, Sadie, a pregnant Boxer. The rest is history.

Maggie had the perfect temperament to be a first friend to all of our fosters. She was an old soul with zero drama and the perfect companion. She wasn’t in to dog sports but she loved events. Put her in a tutu or a costume and she was ready to roll. Maggie was greatly love and will be missed.

If you’re interested in adopting a shelter dog, please don’t walk past the scared ones cowering in the corner. Give them a chance, they could change your life.
