Cub Scout Pack 155 Want to have fun with your kids while learning life skills of leadership, safety, and service? Then join us and let’s go Scouting! We’re growing. Join us!

Dens meet on 1st and 3rd Mondays, Pack Meetings on 4th Mondays 6:30pm at the River Oaks Lions Club. Scout Troop 155 was a historical group within River Oaks that diminished years ago. Thanks to our charter sponsors at the River Oaks Lions Club, in 2022 we began putting the pieces back together to serve the youth of our community and help them become all they can be. We are small but mighty. We welcome interested youth and adults to join us at an upcoming Pack Meeting on the 4th Mondays of each month at the Lions Club. Former Scouts are welcome too as we can learn from your leadership. Contact us with questions. Sarah Kelty 817-907-1915

Yesterday we honored a member of our Scout Family, Raymond Patterson, at his memorial service. Thanks so much to those who could make it. The room was full of people whose lives he touched. Needless to say, Raymond loved Scouting and helping people.

Something one of his friends said stuck out to me that I believe is relevant today. He said Raymond would regularly remind him that the compass was invented before the clock, so it doesn't matter the time, just keep moving forward in the right direction. I loved that.

Today in Bible study, this came up and reminded me of Raymond's saying:

Pick yourself up and resolve to move on whether you feel like it or not. Look at the bright side of your life instead of dwelling on the difficulties. Remember that you can always ask the Lord for help, and He will provide it. There is nothing too difficult for Him to help you through.

Jeremiah 32:27: Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?

I pray this Scouting unit continues to grow and thrive. We had humble beginnings and because of people like you and Raymond who poured into us, we are set up for success with some important tools needed. It's up to us to carry on the leadership roles for our Scouts to learn and grow from. Never underestimate how much you make a difference!

If you're a community member looking for an outlet to positively help our youth, we have room for you in our Pack!
