For the past several years we’ve raised more than ~$40,000 each year -- sufficient funds to sponsor four students at Christ the King in the Corporate Work Study Program. In addition, these students typically work at a non-profit on the West Side selected in cooperation with the Trivia Committee. Two levels of support to our local community. First, through its Corporate Work Study Program, CTK stud
ents earn nearly three-quarters of their tuition while also gaining valuable mentoring and job experience. The Corporate Work Study relationship typically includes a job partner paying the school directly for student tuition in exchange for providing a work-study opportunity for CTK students during the school year at their office. CTK’s job partners include many of Chicago’s most prestigious corporations, banks, firms and non-profit organizations. In cases like ours (where the partnership comes from a donation), the students’ work options are more flexible, extending to non-profit organizations. The second level of support comes as sponsored students work not for a corporation, but for a local non-profit. The Sports Trivia Committee helped select a non-profit that benefits from having four CTK student-workers and which is on the West Side. Students actively supported the non-profit's mission, while also gaining invaluable, real world experience. In selection of the non-profit job partner, our Committee focused on groups that support families and children on Chicago’s West Side. All told, four high school students not only receive access to CTK’s unique educational and work-study opportunities, but a local non-profit organization gains valuable support for its programs. The result: changed lives and futures transformed. THANK YOU for helping us achieve our goal, and helping Christ the King H.S. expand its mission by sponsoring four students while also supporting a local non-profit organization.
