Join KRLT staff member, Aleisha Miller, on a walking tour of a property that has taken many different approaches to do just that! Aleisha, along with instructors Maureen Ash & Becky Brathal, showcase different conservation practices and financial programs that the landowner utilized. The Watschke farm, located just south of River Falls, includes a variety of ecosystems such as savannah, tallgrass prairie, pollinator patches, ponds, and woods.  We will walk about a mile on mowed (but uneven) trails.

Celebrate the autumn bird migration!!

Join us Saturday, September 12 at the Carpenter Nature Center for the Autumn Migration Celebration, a FREE event featuring bird hikes, habitat projects, a keynote presentation, and more!

KRLT will be there sharing an update on the prairie restoration work at our Headwaters Preserve, made possible in part through a generous grant from Tropical Wings. 🌱 We’re excited to share how their support is helping bring this important prairie habitat back to life!

Meet our amazing summer interns, Lydia & Lexi! 🌼

This summer, they joined KRLT and the ERI through UW-River Falls, gaining hands-on experience with invasive species management, native plants, long-term prairie conservation, and restoration.

From managing our native prairies to helping bring them back to their best, their hard work and dedication have been invaluable to KRLT. We’re so grateful for everything they brought to our team and our preserves!

The Kinnikinnic River Land Trust is looking for passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide the next chapter of land and water conservation in our region! As a board member, you help shape the strategy, long-term vision, and financial health of KRLT. Your voice directly impacts our ability to protect vulnerable landscapes, preserve water quality, and connect the community to nature. This includes the ability to work with others and diverse viewpoints.
 
We currently seeking candidates with a background in fundraising, agriculture, land development, or education to augment the current board membership experience. Training and coaching may be provided as necessary to complete board responsibilities.
