🇺🇸 Cub Scouts Pack 229 •

Today our Scouts proudly participated in the River Edge Memorial Day Ceremony, honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Our Cubs stood tall, showed respect, and represented Pack 229 with heart and gratitude — guided by our Den Chief, Noel, whose leadership helped our younger Scouts shine on such an important day.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and to every Scout who helped make this morning meaningful.
We salute. We remember. We honor.

🔥🌲 PACK 229 TOOK OVER CAMP NO-BE-BO-SCO! 🌲🔥

Pack 229 showed UP to Cub Family Weekend and our Cubs went ALL IN.
BBs? Crushed it.
Archery? Bullseyes for days.
Fishing? Lines tight.
Rockets, woodworking, arts & crafts, disability awareness — they did EVERYTHING and then asked for more.

And when the sun went down?
Our Cubs were out there collecting wood like champions, building the perfect fire for a night of s’mores, nonstop laughter, and fellowship.

This crew brought the energy, the teamwork, and the heart.
Pack 229 doesn’t just camp — we TAKE OVER the woods. 💛💙🔥

🌙 The Night Before Cub Family weekend at Camp NoBeBoSco

The moon hung low over River Edge, glowing like a lantern guiding the way to adventure. Inside homes all across town, the Scouts of Pack 229 were buzzing with excitement — the kind of excitement that makes backpacks zip faster, flashlights shine brighter, and sleeping bags roll themselves up (well… almost).

It was the night before Cub Family Weekend, and every Scout felt it.

In one house, a Lion Scout practiced his best campfire cheer, trying not to wake the dog.
In another, a Wolf Scout triple‑checked her gear: water bottle, Class B shirt, flashlight, and of course… snacks.
Across town, a Webelos Scout whispered to his little brother, “Tomorrow we’re going to Camp NoBeBoSco. It’s the coolest place ever.”

Meanwhile, the grown‑ups were doing their own kind of preparing — printing Medical Forms A & B, packing extra socks, and reminding everyone that there’s no breakfast served on Saturday, so they’d better eat before hitting the road.

As the night grew quieter, something magical seemed to drift through the air — a feeling that tomorrow would be special. The Scouts could almost hear the forest calling them, the lake shimmering in the distance, the trails waiting for new footsteps.

Backpacks stood ready by the door.
Uniforms were laid out neatly, with yellow Class B shirts tucked underneath.
Flashlights were tested one last time — click, click.

And as each Scout drifted off to sleep, they dreamed of what awaited them:

- Hikes beneath towering trees
- Campfire stories and s’mores
- New friends and big laughs
- Adventures they’d talk about all year long

Because Pack 229 doesn’t just go camping — they bring the energy, the teamwork, and the heart that makes every trip unforgettable.

And so, on that peaceful night before the big weekend, one thing was certain:

Pack 229 was ready.
Ready for adventure.
Ready for memories.
Ready for Camp NoBeBoSco.

Today our Bear Den completed one of the biggest milestones of third‑grade Scouting — earning their Whittling Chip.

Every Bear looks forward to this moment all year. Before a Scout is allowed to use a pocket knife, they must first complete Pocket Knife Safety Training and prove they understand how serious and important this tool is.

Our Bears stepped up in a big way. They listened, practiced, asked smart questions, and showed that they are responsible, trustworthy, and ready for this next level of independence.

This isn’t just about learning to use a knife — it’s about respect, safety, confidence, and growing into the leaders they’re becoming.

We’re so proud of our Bears for earning this achievement and for showing the true spirit of Scouting every step of the way.
