We had four Lind Ritzville FFA Members compete in the District 9 Sub District Leadership Development Events for Creed Speaking and Employment Skills tonight in Warden.

Sadie Towne and Gunner Grimm competed in the FFA Creed LDE. Though they did not qualify for Districts, they did a great job being competitors in public speaking and representing Lind Ritzville FFA.

For the Employment Skills LDE, Beau Fode and Maeve Korthuis came away with some blue felt- Beau placed 1st and Maeve 2nd. These two will compete at the District contest in March to hopefully qualify for State Convention in May.

The Spring CDE/LDE season has begun. If you’re interested in helping as a judge for any events at the District or State Level, please let any of our advisors know!

A busy day for Lind Ritzville FFA!

We had three members try something a little different and compete in the Tractor Driving CDE at the state level today.  It has been a few years since we have had a team compete in this Career Development Event, but these three showed an interest and put in some work to get to be a part of it today. These 3 held their own against 30 other Teams and were some of the few middle schoolers competing against high school Teams.

Members are tasked with taking an individual written exam over tractor knowledge, working as a team to identify different tractor parts, and each are tasked with driving a tractor with trailer attached through a course. This CDE is a great event for students wanting to go into multiple careers or just be able to operate a tractor at their home. 

These Middle School Members were Russell DeWald, Timmer Mathis, and Lucas Galbreath. They were coached by Mr. Kimble.
