Had a great visit and planning session with our District Governor Mike Raulin and Assistant Gov. Jon Tucker. We are so excited about the continued improvement at first street park and are in the works for the next phase. Be on the look out for several fundraising events, an outreach meet and greet event, civic day, and some new projects coming soon.

Actions are great, but results are better !!! Thanks to the officers and all the community who helped with projects, installations, fund raisers and just keeping an eye out for sketchy activity. Together we all win.

So, some more good news. Just gave a few quick words to the newspaper for a follow up on the saturation day of drug busts last week. Seems a couple of the "transactions" at first street park were caught on film and used to track some of the bad guys down that day. Love it when a plan comes together. Thanks to Rittman's men in blue for doing a great job and working to get rid of that bad element in our town. A first step in taking back not only First Street, but all the parks in our town.
Was great to see the "Lil Miss Rittman Pageant" use the park for their show. Hope to keep it nice and ready for many more events in the future.

Wadsworth police close Durling Park in an effort to reduce crime and stop the recent calls of violence, drug dealing and crime in the area.

Keep your eyes out on WEWS newsnet5 at 4:30 and 5:30 for an updated article on First Street Park. Pretty sure we are gonna get some positive press in Rittman today ! These fine looking Rotarians as well as Chief Arcuri were interviewed for a quick video by the news ! Will hope to be able to use the clip to promote the town and Rotary.

Our park project current phase is complete ! The cameras are up and operating at 1st street !! Making it a little safer for all of us ! Signage will be up soon, but please start spreading the word that 1st St is no longer a place for shenanigans ! Cops are monitoring and will now have evidence of any criminal activity. So take it someplace else !
We will also now be working on the next couple phases at 1st street. Renovation of current equipment, addition of sensory and play wall, and historical markings and signs designating some of the cool things that were in the park in the early 20th century. As well as discussing possible camera and clean up of additional parks.
Again, while the timing was interesting in that Rotary was already working on this park project it is fantastic to have such a positive response to the negative WKYC tv spot. We are going to be reaching out and asking if they would come back and do a positive article on the response of the community.
Those that have reached out recently and anyone wanting to be involved in positive projects for Rittman be on the lookout for our next planning meeting and fund raisers !

Thanks to the garden club for helping us look good !! They did a great job doing the mulch and the weeds at Rotary park. You guys are awesome and it looks fantastic !!!!

Small update for the security camera project. We are waiting on the power source and then installation will get rolling !
So, excited to see this progress ! A safe environment for our kids to play and the community to gather. Making Rittman better ! Appreciate everyone who has helped in any way with this !

Pam had the opportunity to attend the Rittman HS awards ceremony last evening. She was able to present our scholarship to Sean Bise a well deserving recipient ! Sean will receive a $750 scholarship to attend University in the fall. She also bumped into our Youth Leadership Conference attendee, Alan Mackey. He again thanked her for such a great weekend ! We will hopefully have both students attend and address a Rotary meeting soon ! ( Sean in first pic and Alan in second )

Always a pleasure for Rotary to have an impact on the youth in town !
