Thomas James McMillan “T.J. Why the Foundation was created

Thomas James McMillan “T.J.” of Conowingo, MD, age 22, passed away tragically on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born in Lancaster, PA on July 20, 1996 to Jamie McMillan and Amy (Bauguess) McMillan.

T.J. graduated from Rising Sun High School in 2015. He went on to attend Cecil College full time, pursuing his degree in computer programming and game design. He was a member of the National Honors Society, Alpha Alpha Theta. T.J. led a bible study group and was a member of the GBC, a model club, both through Cecil College. He was a very active member at Conowingo Baptist Church, working the sound system for services and a member of the college and career church group.

A Talented young man, T.J. built and painted Gundam models. He enjoyed playing airsoft and was a train enthusiast. T.J. was happy and fun loving person, described as a "shining star" who could light up a room with his smile. Above all, T.J. was very strong in his faith and helped others before helping himself. He never let his disability stop him from achieving his goals. T.J. preached about his autism, saying that his disability was really an ability to reach people through Christ. He witnessed to the very end, when the emergency crews took home the word through the gospel tracks that he always carried with him.

The Missing Piece Foundation is a non-profit foundation created by the family of Thomas "T.J." McMillan. T.J. was an extraordinary young man who was killed in a car accident on November 2, 2018 at the age of 22. He was a month shy of graduating with a degree in Applied Sciences, Simulation and Game Design at Cecil College. T.J. was a 2015 graduate of Rising Sun High School and lived in Conowingo Maryland his whole life. He was a faithful and involved member of Conowingo Baptist Church, involved in many clubs at Cecil College and was active in the community. T.J. struggled for most of his life for all of his achievements as he was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. In his late teen years he became passionate about using his disability as an ability to reach others for Christ and felt that Christ is the missing piece that most people are searching for. He witnessed to everyone he came in contact with. He had a hold faith and extreme courage when it came to overcoming fears to reach others through Christ.
