Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

This holiday has always been about family for me — the one I was born into, and the one that shaped me. I’ve been thinking a lot about my parents this week. My mom , who poured love, kindness, and empathy into everyone she met. My dad, who sacrificed every day — long commutes, long hours — to give us the chance at a better life.
They were the last of their generation in our family. And with them gone, the big gatherings of my childhood feel like memories from another lifetime. But what they taught me has never left me:
Family isn’t just blood.
Family is who shows up.
Family is who loves you.
Family is who grows with you.
Today, my brother and I are spending Thanksgiving together — just the two of us. It may sound simple, but it means more to me than any crowded holiday we ever had.
We went years without speaking. Years of misunderstanding, distance, hurt.
But something changed in both of us.
We found our way back.
We forgave each other.
And today, our relationship is the closest it has ever been.
Two brothers sitting down for Thanksgiving — after everything — is proof that reconciliation is possible. Proof that family can be rebuilt. Proof that love can return stronger than before.
And in that spirit, I want to speak from the heart to the people who hold this country together — many of whom rarely hear “thank you.”
To our veterans, especially the wounded and the forgotten, and with deep respect for the fallen whose courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten.
To our nurses, and the CNAs, CMAs, PCAs, home-health aides, memory-care workers, hospice teams, and assisted-living staff who do the hardest work in the healthcare system for far too little.
To the unpaid caregivers — sons and daughters, spouses and friends — holding their families together through love alone.
To our firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and first responders who protect us in our worst moments.
To our teachers, city workers, and public servants who keep communities functioning.
To the truck drivers, farmers, and agricultural workers, & all who play a roll in feeding our nation.
To the cashiers, waitresses, cooks, bartenders, dishwashers, retail staff, and customer-service workers who keep daily life moving.
To the small business owners who build community with their own two hands.
To the homeless-shelter workers, food-bank volunteers, soup-kitchen teams, and the people who care for those who have nothing.
You — the everyday workers, caregivers, protectors, servers, builders, helpers — are the people who make America run.
Not the billionaires.
Not the executives.
You.
And you deserve more than survival.
You deserve dignity, stability, and respect.
Last week, a homeless veteran in Calhoun called my Electric Bike Dealership that i run by myself. His electric bike ( he — his only way to get to work — was broken in a bad accident that he was also badly injured in. Nobody is helping him.
Today, I'm are hoping to meet with him. If we connect, I’ll be surprising him with the offer of a Free Electric Bicycle so he can keep working and get through the winter. I’ll also invite him to come have a Thanksgiving meal with me, if he’s able. And even if we can’t meet today, I’ll continue trying until we do.
In addition, I’ll be setting up a GoFundMe soon to get him off the streets. He deserves a chance to rebuild. No veteran should be left behind — ever.
What I’m learning this Thanksgiving is simple:
Small acts of kindness create ripples.
And sometimes, those ripples save lives.
And that leads me to the most important part of this message:
To anyone who feels alone, forgotten, or like you don’t belong anywhere — I want you to know this:
Your new family awaits.
Come on in — the door’s open.
All are welcome here.
My campaign isn’t just a campaign.
It’s a community.
A movement rooted in hope, kindness, forgiveness, empathy, and respect for one another — and for our planet.
And win or lose, this family isn’t going anywhere.
We will stand together.
We will lift each other up.
We will have each other’s backs.
Today, I’m grateful for my brother.
I’m grateful for second chances.
I’m grateful for every person who shows goodness in this world.
And I’m grateful for you — for believing we can build a more compassionate America & World together. It will be my greatest Honor to serve all of you in the U.S. Congress.
Happy Thanksgiving.
May this day bring you warmth, connection, and hope — and may we carry that spirit forward from this moment on.
