One of our long-time NSA member spent some time in the classroom today with students at Arlington Public Schools. Thanks Jay Volk

Jay Volk of J and C Simmentals visited the animal science class today to discuss EPDs and bull evaluation. This was a great learning experience for the students as they have spent the week diving into different scenarios and analyzing different bull catalogs and breed EPDs.

With this knowledge- students in class will now be competing in the Cattleman’s Choice contest hosted by Oklahoma State. Each month we will receive a scenario and a bull catalog to analyze and work as a class to select the best four bulls for the situation. These are real-world skills that those in animal agriculture use to grow and improve their herds.
