Heise Scouting Troop 1898 Heise Scouting supports scout activities in the Ririe area. Meet most Thursdays at 7 P.M. in the Ririe Veterans Hall next door to the Ririe Library.

Scouts voted to do a hike this year into an artic lake here in Idaho, to Swauger Lakes. The hike in was approximately 5 miles. The first photos are base camp at the trail head ( #4091). The remaining photos are from Upper Swauger Lake. The location was due east of Mount Borah and was just shorter in elevation than Borah. This was a huge victory for a few, and a new adventure for all. These young men were able to overcome several challenges and grew stronger as a troop.

The hike found us passing several snow packs still melting. A few moose were sited, and the temperatures were fantastic! This was a definitely an adventure that these young men will share with others both now and late into their lives. Congrats Heise troop 1898!
