On January 12th, Ripton proved to be a brave little town that stood out even amongst our brave little state as it voted 163 to 107 to keep the town’s elementary school open by withdrawing from the Addison Central School District.

The conversations and engagement around this vote, from both sides, were inspiring at every turn. We are so lucky to live in a town of such forward-thinking and caring individuals.

Now the future of Ripton's school is dependent on a few additional steps: other towns in the district must grant us permission to leave by a majority vote in those towns, the state board of education must approve our withdrawal, and we must prepare and plan to deliver a quality; town-based educational program.

Please vote YES in your towns of Bridport, Cornwall, Middlebury, Salisbury, Shoreham, and Weybridge on March 2nd!

Vote to uphold Vermont's state motto of "Freedom and Unity." And, vote to allow Ripton to live the will of its citizens by creating its own school district.

With deep sincerity, thank you.
