The air quality in our area is expected to be poor today due to elevated levels of smoke and fine particles in the air.
If possible, limit prolonged time outdoors—especially if you have asthma, COPD, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions. Young children, older adults, and anyone who is pregnant should also take extra precautions.
Here are a few ways to protect yourself:
• Stay indoors with windows and doors closed when possible.
• Reduce strenuous outdoor activities, including exercise.
• Run air conditioning on recirculate if available.
• If you must be outside for an extended period, consider wearing a well-fitting N95 mask.
Keep an eye on family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to poor air quality.
