🇺🇸 BIG NEWS FOR DOWNTOWN RAVENSWOOD! 🎨✨

Downtown Ravenswood is officially joining West Virginia’s America250 Mural Trail!

Thanks to a $5,000 America250 mural grant awarded through Jackson County Commission as part of the West Virginia Department of Tourism’s statewide America250 initiative, a brand-new public mural is coming to the side of the historic Hupp building on Walnut Street in downtown Ravenswood.

This mural will celebrate Ravenswood’s rich history by honoring beloved local businesses from years past, including Hupp’s Ice Cream, Almeda’s Music & Photo Center, Ben Franklin, Ike’s Recreation, The Dairy Bee, The Glass Door, and McIntosh Hardware—bringing a nostalgic piece of our community’s story back to life through public art.

A huge thank you to talented local artists Neil Loprinzi and Philip Moulton with Arts for bringing this vision to life. Their work will help transform this space into something both residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come.

Even more exciting? Once complete, Ravenswood’s mural will become part of a statewide tourism mural trail spanning all 55 counties in West Virginia, helping put our community on the map as part of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration.

Projects like this matter because they preserve local history, create pride in place, and give people one more reason to stop, explore, and spend time in downtown.

We expect the mural to be completed by the end of May, and we can’t wait to show you the finished result! 👏
