Ripley VFW Post 9673

05/25/2026

I feel I should update this page somewhat. The national and state VFW corporates abolished our local VFW a few years ago. We fought this decision, but to no avail. It's not possible to raise membership in our community because it is based on involvement in foreign wars, and not just service. Thank you to all who have supported us over the years.

MEMORIAL DAY FLAGS

The VFW Post 9673 is sponsoring the purchase and placement of Memorial Day Flags for the Lauderdale County area cemeteries where veterans are laid to rest. There are over 2,500 county veterans buried in various cemeteries throughout our county, and we ask for anyone interested in helping place flags or donate toward the purchase of flags, to contact Cathy Poston-Newman at (731) 612-3519. If you participated in helping last year, your flags will be available for pickup at 567 Hwy 51 North Suite C in Ripley May 17 and May 24.
