September is here, and we're kicking off **Library Card Sign-Up Month** at the Ripley Public Library! 🎉

A library card may be small enough to fit in your wallet, but it opens the door to **BIG possibilities!** Books, movies, audiobooks, computers, digital resources, programs, activities, and so much more are waiting for you.

✨ **The smartest card in your wallet is FREE!** ✨

❤️ **I LOVE MY LIBRARY BECAUSE…**

Stop by the library this month and tell us what YOU love about your library! Fill out a paper book with:

**“I ❤️ my library because __________.”**

We'll add your book to our wall and watch our community display grow all month long!

📚 **BUT THAT'S NOT ALL — WE HAVE A SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE!**

We want to see **how many NEW library patrons we can welcome this month!**

Every time someone signs up for their **first Ripley Public Library card during September**, we'll add a ⭐ **gold star** to our wall!

💌 **Celebrate World Letter Writing Day with Ripley Public Library!** ✉️

On **September 1**, we're celebrating with **Letters from the Library!** Stop by the library and visit our Letter Writing Station, where we'll have supplies available to help you sit down, pick up a pen, and send a little kindness someone's way. ❤️

Can't make it to the library? **Join us from home!** Grab some paper and write a letter to:
❤️ Someone you love
📚 Your favorite book character
💙 Someone you'd like to thank
📖 A favorite author
🏡 Someone in your community who could use a little kindness

Kids can join in, too—even a picture with a few special words makes a wonderful letter! 🖍️💌

📬 **Please remember:** If your letter needs to be mailed, you'll need to take it home and mail it yourself. The library will not be able to provide postage or mail letters.

Whether you join us **at the library or from home**, let's fill September 1 with handwritten notes, happy mail, and kind words! 💌

📚💗 In Loving Memory of Dolly Parton 💗📚

Today, we remember Dolly Parton not only for the songs she sang and the joy she brought to millions, but also for the incredible gift she gave to generations of young readers. ❤️

In 1995, Dolly founded Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library with a simple but powerful goal: to help children develop a love of books and reading from an early age.

Inspired by her own father, who was unable to read or write, Dolly wanted children to grow up surrounded by books—regardless of their family’s income. What began as a program for children in her hometown grew into an international effort, providing free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five. 📖

Today, millions of books are mailed to children every single month.

For those of us who believe in the power of libraries, books, and early literacy, this may be one of the most beautiful parts of Dolly Parton’s legacy.

She understood something we see every day at the library:

❤️ A book can open a door.
📚 A book can spark a dream.
🌟 And a child who learns to love reading has a whole world waiting for them.

Thank you, Dolly, for encouraging generations of children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More.

Your music will always be remembered—but so will the millions of little readers whose lives are brighter because you believed every child deserved a book. 📚💗
