Leadership Lauderdale: Tourism & Retail Day- thank you to all our hosts and Security Bank and Trust for sponsoring our lunch at Chisholm Lake Store special thanks to Bubba and Beth!

The Leadership Lauderdale class had the opportunity to explore the vital role that tourism and retail play in the growth and success of our community. From locally owned businesses and unique shopping destinations to attractions that bring visitors to Lauderdale County, we gained valuable insight into how these industries create jobs, support families, and strengthen our local economy.
A thriving retail sector and a welcoming tourism experience don't happen by accident—they are built by passionate business owners, dedicated community leaders, and individuals who believe in investing in the place they call home.
Thank you to all of our hosts, speakers, and local businesses who shared their knowledge and experiences with our class. Your commitment to Lauderdale County helps make our community a place where people want to live, work, shop, and visit.

Living Well & Fitness Day was a full day of energy, adventure, and memories for Youth Leadership Lauderdale! 💪🌿

From exploring history at the museum, to hiking the trails and crossing the new swinging bridge, our students stayed on the move all day long. They paddled into teamwork with canoeing and kayaking, showed off their competitive side with pickleball, and even got in a great workout together.

This day was all about more than just fitness—it was about building healthy habits, strong friendships, and a love for staying active in our community.

We are so proud of this group for embracing every moment and stepping outside their comfort zones. The future of Lauderdale County is strong, active, and full of potential! ❤️

Today was a powerful reminder of why programs like Youth Leadership Lauderdale matter.

High school juniors participating in this year's program had the opportunity to experience EMS Day, and what an impact it made.

From learning about emergency response to seeing firsthand the dedication, skill, and heart it takes to serve others in critical moments—these students walked away with a deeper respect for those who answer the call every single day.

EMS is more than sirens and lights—it’s compassion, quick thinking, and a commitment to saving lives. By exposing our future leaders to careers like this, we’re not only educating them… we’re inspiring them.

Youth Leadership Lauderdale continues to open doors, build connections, and shape the next generation of leaders right here in our community. Today, they didn’t just learn about EMS—they learned what it means to serve, lead, and care for others.
We are proud of these students and grateful for the EMS professionals who poured into them today. 🚑💙

Last week, Mason had the honor of being inducted as Student Body President at Austin Peay State University. He said he is excited to lead, represent student voices, and work alongside campus leaders to make a lasting impact. Congrats Mason for receive the Rising Sophomore Award!

Leadership Lauderdale Ag Day is one for the books!! It was so much fun! Thank you to Pugh Farms, Tim’s Family Farms , McCoys Cattle Farm, Douglas Pecan Orchard, USDA, Farm Bureau, and the other organizations involved with our day and for hosting us. The group learned a lot interesting things. Also shout out to Farm Bureau, USDA, State Department of Ag, UT Extension and Farm Credit for lunch . What an amazing day! Thank you to Larry and Alice McCoy for being the perfect host!!! You all are amazing!
