😂 Momma Cat loves her babies, but goodness gracious, she’s TIRED! Somebody’s nursing, somebody’s climbing her head, and somebody’s chewing on her tail. She’s ready for a nap and her appointment with Uptown Catz!

“Lord, please let my spay day hurry up! I love these babies, but I’m RETIRING from motherhood!” 🐱😂

Spay and neuter saves lives! ❤️🐾

It’s time for another exciting round of NAME THAT KITTEN!!

We have these 3 adorable little fluff butts that somehow ended up at Lauderdale County Animal Control. Of course we said yes when Terry called asking if we had some space.

Now we need names!! We’re about named out, and we have a bunch of kittens left to do, so we figured you guys could help us out with this group. The two tabbies are boys and the little black one is a girl.

Please submit your names in the comments. Each winning name earns the first person to suggest it a $25 gift certificate to The Catz Meow!! Please put your names in the comments on This Post. We will pick the winners next Weds, Oct 14, at noon, so you will have a fresh store full of newly stocked items to choose from. Thanks for playing!!

PS: these kittens are at least a month away from being old enough to get fixed/adopted. However, if you would like to talk with us about fostering, we’d love to discuss it. We have LOTS of kittens that could benefit from a loving home environment, even if only for a few weeks. 😻

Today was another exciting transport day at Uptown Catz. Not only did we ship 14 cats off to a brand new life in Michigan, but we got a last second surprise opportunity to send our one foster dog Brody to our rescue partner in NY.

These transports are expensive, and they are a lot of hard work for our transport team, but they are crucial to our operation. We can’t take in more cats until the ones we have move on. We’ve actually had a few adoptions in the last couple of weeks, which is great, but transports are what keep the kitties moving.

Thank you to everyone who thinks of us and sticks a check in the mail, makes a donation on one of our apps, or donates at the store. HUGE THANK YOU to the folks who show up to volunteer. We struggle more with staffing than anyone can imagine. If you have time and would like to help out, we’d love to have you. We’re here every morning from 800-noon or later. Please stop in and see what it’s all about. The kitties who get to live another day because of us will thank you, and so will we. 😻

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
🚨 PLEASE DO NOT DUMP CATS AT UPTOWN CATZ 🚨 THIS HAPPENED TODAY 🤬
We understand that people sometimes find themselves in difficult situations and need help with a cat. We want to help whenever we can — but dumping cats at our facility, especially when we are closed, is NOT the way to do it.
Uptown Catz currently has a waiting list because our space, volunteers, and resources are limited. Leaving a cat outside our building does not guarantee that we can take it in, and it puts that animal at serious risk.
Please do not leave cats, kittens, carriers, boxes, or animals of any kind at our door while we are closed.
If you need help with a cat, please contact us and allow us to work with you on the safest available option. Abandoning an animal is not a solution — and in Tennessee, animal abandonment can be a criminal offense.
We love these cats. ❤️
We are doing everything we can to care for the ones already in our facility. Please help us by respecting our capacity, our volunteers, and most importantly, the animals.
🐾 If our doors are closed, please do not leave an animal outside.
Thank you for understanding and for helping us keep Uptown Catz a safe place for the cats already in our care 🐾

Help us congratulate our October volunteer of the month: Kaden Franks
Kaden has volunteered with us for several years and has an un-replacable ability to remember ALL of the cats names. We rely heavily on his superior cat identification skills regularly 😻
We love and appreciate you very much Kaden ❤️ 🐾
