Special needs kittens are a lot like special needs people! They can do everything their peers can do with a few minor adjustments and support. Don’t overlook the ones who are a little different! They’re so loving and a joy to have around.

Uptown Catz was BUSYYY today!!

JUST Today while only 5 adult volunteers (plus 2 well seasoned jr volunteers) were doing daily chores, we had people visiting for the first time, someone came in with a sick kitten that they needed advice on, an owner tearfully surrendered their 1 year old cat because they’re moving into a rental that doesn’t allow pets, 2 stray Momma cats and 9 kittens living on a cat lover’s porch need a place to go, a pregnant Momma cat gave birth to a variety pack of 4 gorgeous kittens today at UC, and a foster said goodbye to a 4 week kitten they had been trying to save. 🥹 Every day is a new challenge but we do our best to meet every situation with compassion, education, and solutions.

After all of that fried my brain, I came back after hours to deep clean the floors and you’d never know that today was so chaotic! The cats look like they just had the best customer service of their life and they’re not even going to tip. 😂 I thought yall would enjoy the pics!

Another volunteer will be in soon to give Night meds, feed kittens, and give head rubs. Our cats are so lucky!!

We had someone attempt to abandon a kitten this morning in a duct taped container with a note in a child’s writing that said “kitten inside”. 🥹 I don’t think they expected someone to already be here that early.

We don’t charge a surrender fee but we do ask that you come during business hours and fill out a surrender form so we have some history on the cat and so that we could’ve asked where this kittens siblings and Mom are.

Please NEVER leave animals unattended in our parking lot! 🥲 We might be a rescue but abandoning animals in our parking lot before or after hours is still against state law and interferes with our intake procedures. We currently have a wait list so that we don’t become overcrowded so It’s just not fair to us or to the people who follow the rules. Please do right by us so that we can safely continue to provide this voluntary service to the community.

And if you have any extra dollars, Puff could use some lunch money, flea treatment, and neuter money! All he has are the fleas on his back.

Just a few of our kitties that are on the road to another rescue in Ohio. A big thanks to Cindy Dewey with Pet Compassion Centers for organizing the trip, to Jane and Larry for driving them and to all the volunteers for taking care of them until they were able to leave. Also, a big thanks to Dr Lynn Svoboda for helping with the health certificates it takes all of us to make this happen. Our hope is they all find loving homes very soon.
