The Rio Vista Professional Firefighters Association, in partnership with the Rio Vista FD Hotshots is offering up to $2,000.00 in scholarships for individuals who may be considering a career in firefighting and emergency medicine. This opportunity is extended to all graduating seniors, past and present of Rio Vista High School.

How To Apply:
Submit an essay that details why you want to work in emergency medicine/public safety and what you believe the ideal character traits of a first responder are. Your essay should be no less than 1000 words and must include your name and contact information. It may be submitted to [email protected] or in person at Station 55, 350 Main St, Rio Vista.

The deadline for essay submission is March 27th, 2026.

In addition to essay submission, each applicant will be invited to attend an in-person interview on April 4th, 2026, with a 3-member community panel.

Our 4th annual Casino night was another great success. The newly renovated Community Center was a fantastic spot to come together for a fundraiser to support Rio Vista.

A very grateful shout out goes to the Lira’s Meat Department crew that volunteered their time to cook us some delicious BBQ!!

We congratulate this year’s scholarship recipients Charles Jeffers, Esmeralda Perez Sandoval and Lesly Garcia! We wish them well as they all begin their education in public service and healthcare.

And THANK YOU to each and every attendee last night. We believe in our mission to provide the highest level of advanced life support fire protection to the citizens and visitors of Rio Vista/Delta District. We honor your support
