The Southeastern Ohio Safety Council (SOSC) is a non-profit collaborative of nearly 60 employers in Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton counties who are dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and safety of our workplaces and communities. io Grande every 3rd Tuesday of the month (August - June), from 12:00 to 1:00pm, in the Davis University’s Alumni Heritage Room. Each meeting features a fully-catered lunch and professional speaker on a topic related to workplace health, wellness, or safety. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

November’s Safety Council Meeting will cover Bloodborne Pathogen Protections. This in-person training will be presented by Rick Wisecup, EMT-P, EMS-I. Lunch and door prizes will be provided!

Training Summary:
Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training is essential for anyone who may come into contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) at work. The training covers topics such as recognizing risks, understanding how pathogens spread, and using protective gear.

The first meeting of the 2025-26 program year will be held on August 19th in the Davis University Center’s Alumni Heritage Room (University of Rio Grande). The topic will be "Everyday Safety" and will feature Keith Saunders, a certified OSHA trainer and retired faculty member in the Industrial Maintenance program. He will help us identify some of our greatest everyday safety vulnerabilities at home and work. Fortunately, most of these risks can be avoided or minimized with proper preparation and vigilance.

The Southeastern Ohio Safety Council (SOSC) is currently accepting new members for the upcoming BWC program year through July 31, 2025. Sponsored by the University of Rio Grande, SOSC is a non-profit collaborative of nearly 60 employers in our region who are dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and safety of our workplaces and communities.

All meetings feature a live presentation on a workplace health, wellness, or safety topic, which takes place virtually or in-person at the University of Rio Grande every 3rd Tuesday of the month (August - May). Please see the meeting schedule below. In-person meetings include lunch and giveaways.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
