What a fantastic day at Kids Day!

Catoosa Citizens for Literacy had a wonderful time handing out our colorful "Rock Beats Scissors, Scissors Beats Paper... Nothing Beats Reading!" T-shirts to the children who attended. It was incredible to see such a great turnout and so many smiling faces!

We are truly grateful to be part of a community that comes together to provide valuable resources and opportunities for the children of Catoosa County.

A special thank you to Jacy Nipper, Director of the Catoosa Family Collaborative, for coordinating this amazing event. Your hard work and dedication helped make Kids Day a huge success!

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Krista Autry and Shirley Smith for volunteering their time to help distribute T-shirts and make the day even more special. We appreciate your willingness to serve our community!

Congratulations to Catoosa County’s 2026 GED graduates! 🎓

“Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” - Les Brown

This year, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy was honored to award the Deborah Hester Memorial Scholarship to Ms. Marvina Gayle Ellenburg. The $500 scholarship honors the memory of Mrs. Deborah Hester, a dedicated GED instructor whose passion for education changed countless lives before her battle with cancer.

Ms. Ellenburg was one of Mrs. Hester’s students and later had the privilege of caring for her during her rehabilitation at NHC. Their story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact of kindness, perseverance, and the relationships built through education.

Congratulations again to all of our 2026 GED graduates! We are so proud of your hard work and wish you continued success as you pursue your dreams.

We had such a great time at Catoosa Reads at the Catoosa County Library! So many amazing organizations showed up to share their resources with the community, and the best part? Every single one of them encouraged a love of reading! 📚

Pete the Cat even made an appearance… his dance moves might need a little work 🤭, but he was definitely a crowd favorite!
