Our community is coming together to create something truly special — an all age & all accessible playground where everyone of all abilities can play, laugh, and grow together.

Right now, many people face barriers that keep them from enjoying the simple joy of a playground. We believe everyone regardless of age & ability deserves a safe, inclusive space to explore, make friends, and feel they belong.

This playground is being designed so everyone can play. ❤️

A group in Ringgold is working to build something families in the community don’t have right now: a park designed from the start with accessibility in mind.

The vision for Crossroads Unity Family Park includes wide ramps that can accommodate two adult wheelchairs, wheelchair swings, sensory-friendly play areas, smooth accessible surfaces and shaded spaces throughout the park.

And it’s not just for children with disabilities.

The goal is to create a place where adults with disabilities can play alongside their children and grandchildren, too.

There will also be a walking track, games like chess and checkers, a treehouse with an exhibit room, a mini-amphitheater for community events and a special display honoring veterans and active-duty service members.

They’re working to turn an empty space into a place where families can gather, play and make memories together, regardless of ability.

Now they need the community’s help to make that vision real. 💛

One of the things that makes our vision different is that we are designing beyond childhood. Children with disabilities grow into teenagers and adults, yet the need for recreation, inclusion, family time, and a sense of belonging does not disappear as they grow older. Our park is being designed for all ages and all abilities, including adults with disabilities who want to enjoy a playground campus alongside their children, grandchildren, friends, and families.

With deep sadness, Crossroads Unity Family Park for Persons of All Abilities would like to extend our deepest condolences to Nick & Kristi Ware & family for the loss of their son Alex. Alex was larger than life and he was a joy to be around. Alex was alway smiling, and he was such a blessing to all the knew him. He was on our playground committee and helped so much planning the playground, developing a website, and especially voicing his opinion when playground equipment was being selected as he wanted to make sure everyone regardless of their abilities would have fun at the playground. Heaven gained an Angel that will be deeply missed here on earth. Peace & Grace to his family today and the days that follow.

This Wheelchair Swing was built specifically for Crossroads Unity Family Park as we told the playground company what we wanted. This is a one of its kind of swing and it is just waiting for the right person or company to purchase it. Whomever purchases it will have a plaque beside it with their name on it. What a way to give back to the community... If you are interested in more information on purchasing this wheelchair swing for the playground, please send us a message... This WILL be part of the playground for sure!!!!
