Stanley’s Kids is a non-profit, faith-based organization that strives to integrate, educate and empower children and young adults with special needs and abilities in Nicaragua. His parents, Richard and Mayling, spent countless hours selflessly caring for Stanley and the many health issues he faced with Down Syndrome. As so many other families in Nicaragua, the family struggled just to provide the
basics for their family of five in Managua, much less the additional medical expenses they incurred due to Stanley’s disabilities. His passing was not from the complications of Down Syndrome as one might think, but a tragic accident. The family had just finished celebrating Mayling's birthday when Stanley became choked on a large seed from a piece of fruit he was eating. Richard and Mayling did everything they could to save their son, but Stanley passed away in their arms as they tried to get him to medical help. In memory of their precious son, we came together to begin a ministry for children and young adults with special needs and abilities. We now have two classrooms, one in Managua and one in Thomas Borges, Nicaragua, where we strive to integrate, educate and empower our students through classroom learning based on individual abilities, socialization and instruction in skills for everyday living. Our goal is for each student to become the best that they can be and for them to gain confidence in themselves and their abilities! Stanley’s Kids is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 approved organization and all gifts are tax deductible. If you would like to join us as we work to change the lives of these incredible children and young adults, you may make a donation through our website: www.stanleyskids.org
ALL donations will go directly to the purchase of items for “Stanley’s Kids” and their classrooms. We are trusting God to provide and we’re excited to see what great things He is going to do in memory of one beautiful child!
