Playgrounds are an intricate part of our communities, we see them in almost every residential area. They are places where children play, make friends, folks connect and socialize. But to see an all inclusive playground is rare or almost unheard of. Yet, they are equally as crucial as the traditional ones. Our communities are diverse, with people from various backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic status as well as people with disabilities. Sadly, we don’t see playgrounds that reflect and meet the needs of those with functional diversity.
Many veterans, children, and adults in this category have been overlooked in relation to a traditional playground and park. As a community that values family, friendship, and neighborly love, we understand that the deepest bonds are formed when we interact together. And a park such as Crossroads Unity Family Park is a much needed project due to its all inclusive environment that will help promote the diverse needs of our society.
Crossroads Unity Family Park will be built with easily accessible ramps for wheelchairs, enclosed swings, sensory features for the blind, play stations, outdoor picnic pavilions and a tree house with a surrounding deck and exhibit. This park will also be accessible to those using a walker, and crutches, allowing them to take an active role in their children's play experience.
Ringgold park committee are the vision bearers for Crossroads Unity Family Park. The projected goal for this park is to raise $750,000. The committee is working hard to ensure that the goal is met in a timely manner, and the dream becomes a reality. But, they cannot accomplish this project without your contribution.
As a community, we have the ability to help create a sense of importance and value to those in need. Giving towards the cause is a powerful way that you can brighten the lives of those wounded in war, those born with a disability, and those who became disabled due to various circumstances.
