Hampshire Country School spent its final days of the school year making the most of spring in New Hampshire. Students explored local rail trails by bicycle, cast lines from the shore, worked in the gardens, participated in a cattle drive, and enjoyed the outdoors with friends and faculty in so many ways. Our annual Spring Carnival brought plenty of excitement, including water games, a hot dog eating contest, and many other activities that filled the campus with laughter.

The week concluded with Commencement, a meaningful celebration of growth, perseverance, and achievement. Dressed in their Sunday best, students gathered with families, alumni, faculty, and friends to enjoy speeches, music, and the celebration of this important milestone. We are especially proud of our graduates as they begin the next chapter of their journeys. We are rooting for you!

Congratulations to those moving on, and thank you to everyone who helped make this school year such a memorable one as we enjoyed the great moments and worked through the hard ones. Have a wonderful summer, and don't forget to write!

Last week was an exciting one for Hampshire Country School highlighted by Dr. Temple Grandin spending nearly 7 hours on campus on Wednesday. She toured the school, shared her experiences as a former student, and participated in a Q&A session. Later that evening, we hosted a Neurodiversity Symposium at the Park Theater in Jaffrey, featuring Dr. Grandin and an esteemed panel of experts: Dr. Will White, Dr. David Rowe, Dr. Caroline Robertson, and Stacia Langille. The event was a great success, and we’re grateful to our Hampshire Country School community for showcasing the importance of our "Place of Possibilities" to the greater Monadnock region. HCS Timbertop Summer Camp, June 28-July 25
Enrollment is now open!
Hampshire Country School is now enrolling for its renowned Timbertop Camp, a four-week overnight summer program designed for bright, neurodivergent boys ages 8-14. Located on the school's 2,000-acre campus in southern New Hampshire, Timbertop offers a supportive, strengths-based environment where campers can build confidence, form meaningful friendships, and thrive through hands-on, outdoor learning.

Each day at Timbertop blends adventure, skill-building, and fun through activities such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping, and team-based challenges. Guided by experienced staff who understand and celebrate neurodiverse learners, campers develop resilience, independence, and social-emotional growth while enjoying the best elements of a classic summer camp experience. With small group sizes and individualized attention, Timbertop provides a space where boys can feel successful, connected, and understood.

In addition to summer programming, Hampshire Country School is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Serving bright, neurodivergent boys from late elementary through early high school, the school offers an individualized, experiential approach that emphasizes strengths, hands-on learning, and personal growth. Families and professionals are encouraged to inquire early, as space for both Timbertop Camp and the academic program is limited.

Even though it’s snowing today, spring has truly arrived at Hampshire Country School.

This Easter, we were lucky enough to welcome new lambs into the world. There’s nothing quite like the energy of new life on the farm. Wobbly first steps, soft bleats, and plenty of work for both mom and our farm manager. For our students, it’s a seasonal milestone, highlighting the shift in seasons and the final stretch of the school year.

Moments like these remind us why time on our farm matters. Students witness the rhythms of life and learn the responsibility that comes with caring for living creatures. They can choose to take part in daily chores, work on special projects, play, or just simply sit quietly among the animals.

At Hampshire Country School, we see every day how hands-on learning builds confidence, focus, and genuine curiosity. When students can move, manipulate materials, test ideas, and see immediate results, science becomes concrete and meaningful. For boys who learn differently and who may struggle with long lectures or abstract explanations, hands-on work provides structure, sensory input, problem-solving opportunities, and the chance to experience success in real time.

Our students recently built light box projects, exploring circuitry, wiring, and design while troubleshooting and refining their work. The whole school also visited the Museum of Science in Boston this week, where interactive exhibits allowed students to explore physics and engineering in engaging, hands-on ways.

Hands-on science isn’t just engaging for many neurodivergent boys; it’s transformative.

Hampshire Country School celebrated the 100th day of school with group games, surprises, and plenty of laughter, a reminder that learning here is as joyful as it is meaningful. While festivities marked this milestone, the week has also been about settling back into our normal classroom routines and the steady rhythm that helps our students thrive.

Well… almost normal.

Because at Hampshire Country School, Mondays are still reserved for skiing and there’s no better way to start the week than fresh air, snowy trails, and a little adventure.

Here’s to 100 days of growth, resilience, community, and to all the days still ahead!
