So disheartening for our community…

Thanks to all those that have called, messaged, emailed or chatted with us about our recent WCC news. Many have asked how they can help, and outside of someone having a space we can turn into a theatre (a guy can dream, right?) we wanted to let people know we could use help loading a moving truck on Sunday, Dec 29 at 9am until it’s done. We have spent the last several weeks packing, purging and moving smaller loads. We have taken nearly 20 carloads to the Arc and Goodwill. We have whittled it down to what we have left. We will be moving most of the rest of our stuff to a storage unit. If you can make it, let us know or just show up. Thanks for helping us through the jankiest Christmas gift ever given. We appreciate you, our Funky Fam.

Every two years, state community theatre organizations, like the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition, will qualify at least one community theater to advance to the regional and national theatre festival. The show that is guaranteed an opportunity to advance is the production awarded Outstanding Production which is deemed to be the most "fully realized" production for acting, directing, design, and overall impact. This year's winner of the Outstanding Production is Platte Valley Players Theatre based in Brighton, Colorado with their production of The Tomato Plant Girl. Congratulations to all of the theatre artists involved with this production.

The Colorado Theatre Festival had the honor of presenting the award for Outstanding Director to Kelly Van Oosbree for her beautiful work crafting the world of The Tomato Plant Girl presented by the Platte Valley Players Theatre. Congratulations, Kelly!

One of the most coveted awards at the Colorado Theatre Festival is the Techtinabulation Award, which acknowledges a presenting company whose teamwork, communication prowess, and technical abilities stand as an example for community theaters. This year's winner of the Techtinabulation Award is Sopris Theatre Company from Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
