Commissioner Mike Samson, District 3, has a proven record of integrity, sincerity, and dedication to ALL citizens of Garfield County. I was born in Glenwood Springs and raised in Rifle and earned degrees from Brigham Young University (BA) and Western Colorado University (MA). I have been married to my wife, Janet, for 46 years and we have raised 7 children. I spe

nt 25 years teaching and coaching in the Garfield RE-2 School District, culminating in a tenure as a high school administrator. I continued my service to Garfield County when I was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2008. I have earned four terms in office based on my commitment to cultivating our community through listening and dialogue. I have a genuine passion for helping the people of Garfield County. I believe in the power of community and the importance of working together. I desire to help carry forward a vision of Garfield County as an even better place to live, work, and play, for everyone.
