Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Celebrates Junior Brahman Show Champions

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – In a remarkable display of support and encouragement for young Brahman enthusiasts, the Heart of Texas Brahman Association marked a significant contribution at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo's Junior Brahman Show today. The Association's directors, in a commendable act of generosity, awarded checks to junior exhibitors.

The junior exhibitor of the Division Champion Heifer received an award of $200, while the exhibitor of the Reserve Division Champion Heifer was presented with $100. These awards, funded through the dedicated fundraising efforts of the Heart of Texas Brahman Association, reflect the organization's commitment to fostering the next generation of Brahman leaders.

Further adding to the celebration, the Grand Champion Heifer, shown by Laura Cooper, and the Reserve Grand Champion Heifer, presented by Baxter Whitworth, were honored with commemorative Heart of Texas Brahman Association-branded blankets. This gesture symbolizes the Association's pride and recognition of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by these young exhibitors.

The awards presentation was made even more special by the presence of Heart of Texas Brahman Association directors Pasquale Swaner and Kelvin Moreno. Their participation underscored the Association's deep involvement and support for youth in agriculture.

Pasquale Swaner, speaking on behalf of the Association, expressed their eagerness to continue this tradition of support. "We look forward to continuing to support our youth through the efforts of the Heart of Texas Brahman Association," said Swaner, reflecting on the day's event.

Heart of Texas Open Brahman Show Hosted by the Heart of Texas Brahman Association

BELTON, TX - The Heart of Texas Brahman Association proudly presents the Heart of Texas Open Brahman Show, scheduled for this Friday at 9 am. This esteemed event, taking place in Belton, Texas, is a showcase of some of the finest Brahman cattle, brought together by a community deeply rooted in agricultural excellence.

Esteemed Judge: Rachel Cutrer
We are honored to announce Rachel Cutrer as the judge for this prestigious event. Rachel is not only a co-owner and co-general manager of BRC Ranch, a BIF Seedstock Producer of the Year award winner, but also an esteemed figure in the cattle breeding community.

Her accolades include being named the first ever Outstanding Young Alumni of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Furthering her education, Rachel also holds a Master's Degree from Michigan State University.

Rachel's commitment to the community is evident in her extensive service. She has been a Board Member for several community programs, including a 16-year tenure on the board of the American Brahman Breeders Association. She currently serves as a director for Capital Farm Credit, a significant component of the Farm Credit System.

Her judging experience is both national and international, having judged at 9 different U.S. breed junior nationals, as well as the 2022 and 2023 National Brahman Show in Mexico and the 2023 Paraguay International Brahman Show.

Beyond her professional achievements, Rachel is a devoted wife to Brandon, and a loving mother to Mollie and Annie. She finds her greatest pride in her family and in her commitment to helping others in the community.

We are honored to have Cole Young as the judge for this event. Cole brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the ABBA Open Winter Stock Show Classic. As a former member of the 2001 National Collegiate Livestock Judging team at Texas A&M and a holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development, Cole's deep understanding of livestock judging is unparalleled.

His experience extends beyond academia into practical and hands-on roles in the industry. Cole has mentored two Collegiate Livestock Judging teams at Sam Houston State University and has an impressive seven-year tenure in education focusing on Agriculture Science and the County Extension Service. Currently, Cole, along with his family, is dedicated to raising purebred Brahman cattle in Katy, TX, and is actively involved in agricultural sales at Bag Supply Company.

The ABBA Open Winter Stock Show Classic represents a meeting of minds and talents in the cattle industry, and Cole Young's involvement as a judge is a highlight of the event, assuring fair, knowledgeable, and respected judging standards.

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS:

We are excited to welcome you to the 2024 Heart of Texas Shows. As we prepare for a successful event, please be aware of the following important updates and guidelines:

1. FACILITY ACCESS TIME: NO ONE CAN ENTER THE FACILITY BEFORE 12:00 PM (NOON) ON TUESDAY. This is a key factor in ensuring a smooth and organized setup.

2. STALLING SPACE ALLOCATION: Only the cattle officially entered in the shows will be allocated stalling space.

3. NO ADDITIONAL SPACE: Regrettably, no additional stalling space will be provided beyond what is assigned for your entered cattle.
