If you got a Scouting for Food flyer at your home this weekend, put a bag out front early on Saturday the 20th for it to be collected by a scout. If you DIDN'T get a flyer, that just means we didn't have enough scouts to cover your street--you can always donate to our area's largest food drive in person by bringing your donations to one of the following locations. You food will go to local food banks to feed the hungry right here in our neighborhoods this winter. Happy Holidays!

St. James' School Garage - Saturday the 20th from 10-12 am
Scout Cabin in Leedom Estates Park - Saturday the 20th from 9-11 am
Edgewood Elementary - Monday the 22nd from 6:30-7:30 pm

Let’s Light Up Leedom on Dec. 24! The Leedom Scouts are selling luminary kits - 10 bags and 10 candles for $5.

Venmo or use the link below to reserve your kit. A limited number will be available--order before Dec. 8 to make sure you get your kit! Our scouts can deliver to you, or you can pickup in-person at the scout cabin in Pentimall Park every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm.

On Dec. 24, fold down the tops of your bags to prevent it from blowing/catching fire, and fill each with a rock, a little sand, or birdseed. Place the luminaries on your sidewalk edge about 8-10 feet apart. As it begins to get dark around 5 pm, light your candles, and be sure to blow them out before bed. (Rain date will be New Year’s Eve.)

We hope families can get out and walk or drive around the neighborhood to see how pretty the lights look and hope it brings a bit of cheer to Leedom for the holiday. The money raised will be used to buy new tents for the troop, do some maintenance on the cabin, and help our scouts earn their way to summer camp.
