We had a lot of fun today helping out at the Friends of Youth and Nature - EE in Your Outdoor Community event at Ridgway State park. The kids learned about invasive species on the rivers and how the ecosystems work and then made seed balls with native grass seed/soil & clay that will be replanted along the river beds this Spring and Fall with help from Riversedge West. About 80 kids went through this station, along with fishing and archery, and a full lunch! Always happy to help sponsor these events and do our part with the next generation of land stewards!

Education makes a difference to help break generational poverty. We are happy to be a long time supporter of Empowerment International and the work they do in Nicaragua. The dedicated team continues doing amazing programs for the kids. Take a moment to peruse their annual report and maybe you will be inspired to help and sponsor a kid also!

We are happy to be among community Foundations helping get kids out in nature and experience nature's commons...and off their phones.

Fourth grade students enjoy a fall day on our national forest celebrating public lands day and learning about the many natural resources the forest has to offer.

This is why we love doing what we do! Way to go in helping keep our oceans and reefs healthy.

We have a small team at RRC, but we get stuff done! To provide an example of what we do, last week we accomplished the following:

-Installed four new moorings at Marie Pampoen so we can add four new trees to the nursery managed by Scubaçao and The Dive Bus, Curacao.
-Constructed eight new bamboo structures to accomodate outplanting by upcoming coral certification course for 12 Broadreach students.
-Installed 60 Elkhorn fragments in two new rope nurseries at Goby Divers with grizzled veteran volunteer, Andre Steg.
-Interns and volunteers fragged and filled our Elkhorn coral trees after we outplanted 60 nursery-raised Elkhorn corals the week before.
-Certified Tripp's high school friend, Doug Weaver, and five family members in the Coral Restoration Curacao PADI Distinctive Specialty course (Hey Doug and fam - thanks for the great day!).
-We visited our Avila Beach Hotel - Curacao coral nursery and outplanted coral to two bamboo tables, installed six new floats to the coral trees, and fragged and filled four coral trees.
-Claire provided a briefing and snorkel tour to 10 LionsDive Beach Resort Curaçao guests.
-Our partner Scubaçao certified 4 local divers to be Coral Restoration Curacao Divers and eligible to join our volunteer program using funds provided by a grant from Kolektivo Curaçao.
-Lars and Intern Claire conducted several reef surveys for Claire's reseach project.
-We drafted our July newsletter, sent out invoices, researched grants, and carried out basic office activities.

It was a great and productive week!!

We love helping out and volunteering with the organizations we help support! Friends of Youth and Nature - EE in Your Outdoor Community has great programs from:farm to table, outdoor skills, resilency for youths in need and providing scholarships (that we help with) for youth to participate in the programs.
