THURSDAY September 3, at 6pm
Queens Public Library and Humanities New York invite you to join a conversation series exploring disagreement, free expression, and dissent in civic life. Each session begins with a short reading or image and opens into a guided discussion. Participants are invited to bring their own experiences and perspectives as we explore some of the questions shaping democratic life today.

Thursday, September 3, at 6pm
Is Offense a Threat—or a Necessity in a Free Society?
Free expression, dignity, and the limits of public life
Participants consider how a free society navigates speech that provokes, challenges, or unsettles. The conversation explores when offense serves a purpose—and when it undermines trust or dignity.

A short excerpt from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah will serve as our anchor. No advance reading or registration is required.

The Friends of the Ridgewood Library Book Sale is Saturday, June 27 from 11am - 3pm. Come pick up books for your summer reading.

If the weather is nice we will be in the library garden, if not we will be in the auditorium.

This will be our last book sale until August 29.

We will be accepting book donations during book sale hours. We do not accept encyclopedias, school text books or any reference books.

Please bring your own bag.
We only accept CASH. No bills over $20 are accepted. Exact change is appreciated.
